SAMBA: Police on Monday arrested a truck driver and recovered 3 kg poppy straw from the vehicle he was driving.
As per the details, SI Imran Khan Incharge Police Post Mansar under the supervision of Varinder Singh, Dy. SP HQ Samba while conducting checking at Mansar intercepted the truck (HR37C-6535) which was on way from Srinagar towards Samba. Upon checking, one bag was found beneath the driver’s seat in which approximately 3 Kg poppy straw (Bhukki) was recovered.
The driver namely Tariq Kucshey son of Abdul Rashid resident of Barsoo Tehsil Awantipora, District Pulwama was arrested besides the vehicle was seized on the spot. A case vide FIR No.189/2016 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Samba.
