JAMMU: The State Government on Thursday said that transfer of power projects is an important part of the development agenda of BJP-PDP coalition and they are actively pursuing transfer of hydroelectric projects from NHPC.
In a written reply by Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh, who also holds the power portfolio said that as mentioned by the Finance Minister during the budget speech, the transfer of power project holds the prime importance in PDP-BJP coalition.
On 16th March 2015, the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and the Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu, met the Union Power Minister and impressed upon the Union Government and urged the need for transfer of Power Projects of Dulhasti and Uri from National Hydroelectric Power Project (NHPC) .
The Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh was responding to question raised by Devender Rana of National Conference in Legislative Assembly. Subsequently, the issue has been raised by Deputy Chief Minister at various Power Ministers Conferences.
