Training programme for JU officers concludes

JAMMU: Eight weeks long training programme, course for university officers organised by the UGC-Academic Staff College, University of Jammu, concluded here on Friday.

Prof. R.D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University was the Chief Guest on the valedictory function and Professor Rajni Kant, Director, UGC-Academic Staff College, presided over the function.

Prof. Sharma underlined the role of such training programmes for officers of the university. While calling upon the officers to give their best to their profession and to maintain regularity and punctuality, he asked them to bring a change in the attitude towards their duties that the same be reflected in their work.

Prof. Sharma called upon the officers to work in a team and involve all those with whom they work. He also laid stress on the timely completion of the work in all the departments and sections. He complimented Professor Rajni Kant, Director, UGC- Academic Staff College for organising the training course.

Prof. Rajni presented a bird’s eye view of the eight weeks course which was attended by 25 officers of the university. He  spoke about the broad themes like, general administration, financial code, RTI, sexual harassment at work place, basics of IT, review of calendar /rule book, etc., which were taken up by the expert faculty drawn from various sources.

The prominent resource persons who delivered lectures during the programme include Mohammad Rafiq, Retd Under Secretary GAD, Prof Rajni Dhingra, Dean Sciences and Head, Dept of Home Science, Prof Indu Aima, former Professor IMPA, Prof Satnam Kour, Head, Dept of English, Prof Pawnesh Abrol, Dept of Computer Sciences and Dr Suresh Rao, Dr Vijay Sehgal, Dr G.R Ghani and Vikas Sharma.

Manoj K. Dhar, Registrar, Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC and Dr. Susheel Sharma, Course Coordinator were present on the occasion.
