JAMMU: In preparation for the upcoming Holy Navratra festival celebrations at Kali Mata Mandir Bagh-e-Bahu and Kandoli Mata Nagrota in Jammu, the SSP Traffic Jammu has issued an important traffic advisory.
This initiative aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion on the routes leading to these religious sites.
As per advisory, there will be a one-way vehicular traffic system directed towards the Bagh-e-Bahu Temple from October 3 to 12, 2024.
This arrangement is designed to keep the Bahu Fort Route clear of obstructions, allowing for easier access for devotees. During this period, vehicles will not be permitted to travel towards Kali Mata Mandir Bagh-e-Bahu via Bahu Fort Road.
Additionally, all vehicles (Light Motor Vehicles and Passenger Service Vehicles) heading towards Bahu Fort will be diverted at the P/S Bagh-e-Bahu crossing. These vehicles will be rerouted towards Qasim Nagar, where they will continue to the Bye Pass Road NHW and Forest Check, ultimately leading them to Kali Mata Mandir.
It is important to note that heavy vehicles (HMVs) will not be allowed entry into the Bagh-e-Bahu/Bahu Fort area from the Bye-Pass Naka NHW (Sidhra road) during the Navratra days. This restriction is intended to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure the safety of all participants.
To facilitate parking, devotees and the general public are urged to use designated parking slots only. Parking on either side of the road is strictly prohibited, and any wrongly parked vehicles will face action under the Motor Vehicles Act. The designated parking slots at Bagh-e-Bahu include the New JDA Parking, the main paid parking slot in front of Bagh-e-Bahu Temple, the ground of Govt. Hr. Sec. School Bagh-e-Bahu, and the Railway parking slot Bagh-e-Bahu.
The Traffic Police requested the cooperation of the public and motorists to adhere to these guidelines and avoid movement on restricted routes during the religious program. For any traffic-related assistance, please contact the Traffic Control Unit (TCU).
This advisory is issued to ensure a safe and serene experience for all devotees during the Navratra Festival at Kali Mata Mandir Bagh-e-Bahu and Kandoli Mata Nagrota. Your adherence to these instructions will help minimize congestion and uphold the sanctity of this auspicious event.
