JAMMU: Special Secretary, Tourism Department, Amarjeet Singh, on Friday informed that the Chaitra Navratra Festival 2023 shall be celebrated from March 22 to 30, 2023 at Katra and Jammu.
“Every year approximately four lakh tourists visit the Holy Shrine of Katra during the period of Chaitra Navratra and there is urgent need to tap the pilgrimage tourist potential of Katra especially during the Navratra period and diversify it to other parts of Jammu region,” Amarjeet Singh said while addressing a press conference, here.
He was flanked by Sunaina Sharma Mehta Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Umesh Shan Deputy Director Tourism Jammu and Abdul Jabbar Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity) Jammu.
Highlighting the activities being planned for the Chaitra Navratra Festival 2023, Amarjeet Singh said daily screening of devotional movies, daily devotional song performances and daily Jagran near Musical Fountain at Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu besides cultural performances on March 29 during Mela Bahu Fort.
Similarly, he said, daily devotional songs/Jagran performances with be held at Fountain Chowk, Katra besides LED Walls for display of tourist destinations will be installed at entrance of Bawe Wali Mata Mandir Jammu, Fountain Chowk Katra, Railway Station Jammu and Jammu Airport.
One day “Mata Ki Bhaint” will be held at Kol Kandoli, Nagrota on March 25, he added.
