Top JeM terrorist among 2 ultras killed in Pulwama

Srinagar: Top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist Kaiser Koka was among two ultras killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district on Monday, police said.
The encounter broke out at Wandakpora in Awantipora area after security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said.
“#Terrorist Kaiser Koka #neutralised. Identification of 2nd terrorist being ascertained. #Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 USA made rifle (M-4 Carbine), 01 pistol and other materials have been recovered,” a police spokesman tweeted. Koka was wanted in many terror-related incidents, the official said.
The spokesperson added that a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, Army (55RR) and CRPF (130Bn) in the area.
During the search operation, as the joint search party approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated effectively leading to an encounter. The other terrorist killed has been identified as Ishaq Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Nabi Lone, resident of Lelhar, Pulwama.
As per police records, the killed terrorist Kaiser Koka was a categorized terrorist involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on police, security forces and civilian atrocities. He was active since 2018 and had ex-filtrated to Pakistan. After acquiring training, he infiltrated back to the Kashmir Valley and was active in the areas of Awantipora, Pulwama. He was involved in an IED attack at Larmoo Awantipora on May 2,2022 in which two CRPF personnel got injured.
The other killed ultra Ishaq Ahmad Lone was a hybrid terrorist and was also involved in several cases including attacks on police, security forces and civilian atrocities. In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been initiated.
