Time for PM Modi to liberate PoJK, Gilgit-Baltistan: Hari Om

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Reflecting on PM Narendra Modi’s Red Fort Independence Day speech, Jammu for India (JFI) said that time of passing resolutions and making speeches was up and it was now time to act and act swiftly and resolutely so that the nation could witness the reintegration of the enslaved, marginalized and exploited PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan into India.
“Time for passing parliamentary resolutions and making speeches is over. It’s now time to liberate from the aggressor Pakistan the Indian territories of PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, where the people are leading a wretched life and treated worse than the brutes by the Pakistani invaders. PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan are legitimately Indian and the people of these areas are Indians. It is the fundamental duty of New Delhi to liberate them and bring the people of the regions to the Indian mainstream,” said Prof Hari Om, convener of the JFI. He add that the New Delhi’s focusse on the human rights violations in PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan would not only further isolate Pakistan but would also defeat its 70-year-old Kashmir policy.
“The bleeding Indian nation had been urging New Delhi since decades to undo the wrongs committed by the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru in J&K. It was the conspiracy hatched by him to hand over PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan on a platter to Pakistan by enforcing a ceasefire at a time when the Indian Army had the Pakistani invaders on the run. It was also a conspiracy against the people of Jammu and Ladakh so that they become slaves of Kashmir and Kashmiri leadership of the time. This conspiracy was hatched to enable anti-Jammu and pro-autonomy Sheikh Abdullah to rule the state and exploit its people, Kashmiri Muslims included, unhindered and without any opposition,” Prof Hari Om further said.
Prof Hari Om added that there was historical antagonism between the people of PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan and Sheikh Abdullah’s National Conference as well as between the other people of Jammu province/Ladakh region and Kashmir as the policies and programmes of Sheikh Abdullah were fundamentally Kashmir-centric.
The liberation of PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan will change the whole course of political history of J&K and help New Delhi reestablish peace in the over-fed and over-pampered Kashmir Valley, said Prof Hari Om, adding that it would be all the more appropriate if the state was reorganized on regional, as opposed to religious, basis.
“The 60-year-old unitary politico-constitutional and administrative set-up has failed to produce the desired results. Instead of harmonizing inter-regional relations, the J&K Constitution of 1947 has only accentuated regional tensions and animosities. It would be an act of statesmanship if New Delhi invokes Article 371 of the Indian Constitution and reorganize the state’s polity taking into consideration the grave evils which followed after the implementation of the J&K Constitution framed by the J&K Constituent Assembly, which was the byproduct of the highly rigged elections held in 1951,” said Prof Hari Om.
The JFI convener also urged the Prime Minister to take up the issue of gross human rights violations in Balochistan, which was annexed to Pakistan in 1948 against the will of the pro-India Balochis.
