Timber smugglers attack officials, damage vehicle

BHADARWAH: A vehicle of Forest Dept team was damaged by the timber smugglers when they raided a site on a specific information of timber smuggling.
During the interning night of 6th -7th February, a team of Central Forest Control Room, Bhadarwah Forest Division alongwith FPF J-8 Doda headed by In-charge Central FCR Bhadarwah Mohammad Haroon Khan in charge as per direction of the DFO Bhaderwah on a specific information regarding the illicit damage of tree in Comptt 57/Neru rushed to the spot where team found three deodar logs and seized the illicit timber amounting 21.57 Cft.
The party parked their private vehicle at Village Chakka and proceeded towards the spot in forest. After visiting the spot in the forest, when the party came back they found that their vehicle was damaged by timber smugglers. The matter has been reported to the Police Station Bhadarwah.
Meanwhile, NGFO unit Bhadarwah held a protest and strongly condemned the coward act of the timber smugglers and demanded strong action against the culprits involved.
When this correspondence contacted DFO Bhadarwah, he stated that strict action would be taken against the culprits and matter has been already brought to the notice of higher authority for the same.
