BANIHAL: The two-day 35th Annual Conference on Kashmiri organised by the Adbee Markaz Kamraj(AMK) began on Saturday at the Government Higher Secondary School, Banihal.
The conference was started with the recitation of Holy Quran and a Natiya Kalam in presence of prominent writers, poets and dignitaries from several parts of J&K and New Delhi.
Former Director, AIR, Kashmir, Rafiiq Raaz delivered the key note address and Margoob Banihali the presidential address while as Prof. Mohd.Amin Bhat, General Secretary, AMK read out a brief report on the past activities of AMK for the promotion of Kashmiri language.
On the occasion three books ‘Goshan Hund Posh’ written by Bashir Baderwahi, ‘Wachas Tal Mazar by Shamshudin Shamim and ‘Taawus Banihali’ by Manshoor Banihali were also released by guest of honour Margoob Banihal, Shehzadi Saimon, former Deputy Director General,Doordarshan, Rafiq Raaz, former Director, AIR,Kashmir, Dr. Aziz Hajni, President AMK and Brij Hali.
Other prominent poets (Shair), writers (Adeeb) and delegates of AMK attending the conference included Mohd.Rafi Bhat, Member Advisory Board AMK, Aseer Kishtwari,Prof.H.K Kher, Piyare Hatash, Ghulam Nabi Atish, Prof. Shad Ramzan, Prof. Iqbal Nazki, Prof. Mashal Sultanpuri, Sajad Shaheen, local NC leader , besides Dr. Shujaat Bukhari, Executive Member, AMK who is moderating and compeering the conference.
The DIO, Ramban, Tehsildar, various officers and educationists and students of local educational institutions were also present in the conference.
