Three gamblers held, stake money seized

JAMMU: Police on Monday arrested three gamblers and recovered stake money from their possession.
On receipt of specific information, the police team headed by Sachin Gupta, Dy.SP SDPO City South Jammu assisted by Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar conducted a raid at House No. 116 Sector 5 Nanak Nagar and caught three gamblers red handed. Police arrested the gambler trio and recovered playing cards, eight mobile phones, two laptops besides stake amount of Rs. 12,000 from their possession.
The gamblers have been identified as Anil Mahajan alias Gulla, son of late Hari Krishan Daya, resident of House No. 116 Sector 5 Nanak Nagar, Jammu; Sahil Gupta, son of Vinod Kumar, resident of Plot No. 273 Sarwal Jammu and Rajnish Balgotra, son of Parkash Chand, resident of House No. 148 Sector 9 Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
Police official informed that prima facie it appears that the arrested persons were also engaged in online gambling activities through internet on mobile phones and laptops.
Accordingly, a case has been registered under relevant sections of law.
The raid was conducted by police team under the close supervision of Shazaad Salaria, SP City South Jammu and Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu.
