JAMMU: The three days cultural event ‘Udaan’ of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organised by the office of Dean Students Welfare concluded here at Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony Jammu on Saturday.
In the three days event, students of various departments performed various cultural and curricular activities such as Rangoli, collage making, on-the-spot painting and on second day light vocal solo, photography, poetry, mime, skit were performed. On the third day mimicry, fancy dress competition, folk group song and folk group dance were performed.
Pertinent to mention that every year office of Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Central University of Jammu conducts cultural event Udaan for the students of the university to show their talent. The result of all events were declared today by the adjudicators and in Rangoli competition Department of EVS (Group 9) was declared first, Department of Plant Sciences (Group 17) second, and Department of EVS (Group 30) was declared as third.
In the collage competition Neha Sandhu of Department of MBA and TTM was declared first, Jyoti Sharma, Department of English declared second and Rahul Department of NSS was declared third. In on-spot painting competition Vishnu Prasad Department of English was declared as first, Waqa Ahmad, Department of Economics as second and Syed Sidra Haq was declared as third.
In light vocal solo competition Juhi Singh, Department of NSS declared as first, while second position was shared by Swati Magotra and Jishnu both Department of English similarly third position was also shared by Monika Jain, Department of NSS and Manisha Andotra, Department of Social Work. In photography Radika Bali, Department of English was declared first, Diksha Dhar Department of MCNM second while Mohammad Tariq V, Department of MBA and Ashish Kohli, Department of MCNM both shared third position. In poetry competition Gurvinder Kour, Department of English was declared first, Shubham Sharma, Department of PPPA second and Insha Nabi Department of MCNM was declared third. In mime competition Department of Marketing and Supply Chain (Group 22) was declared first, Department of Social Work (Group 19) second and Department of English (Group 17) was declared third. In skit competition Department of NSS (Team 1) was declared first, Department of Plant Sciences (Team IV) second, while Department of EVS (Group II) and Department of MBA TTM (Group VI) both were declared third.
On the last day competition in mimicry Himanshu, Department of HRM and OB was declared first, Amit Gupta, Department of MCNM second and Prabhjyot, Department of English was declared third. In fancy dress competition Insha Nabi Department of MCNM was declared first, Madhu Fakwaria, Department of EVS second while Manmeet Kour, Department of Education and Sonakshi Malhotra, Department of English both were declared third.
In the Folk Group Song competition Department of EVS (Team 1 Shagun Gupta and Group) was declared first, Department of Education Sem-2 (Team 8 Lakshmi Devi and Group) second and Department of Education (Sem IV) Team 3 Monica and Group were declared third.
In the folk group dance competition Department of Social Work (Team 13) Neha Bharti and group was declared as first, Department of MCNM (Team 4) Krishna and group second while Department of EVS (Tea, 6) Madhu and Group and Department of Social Work (Team 11) Abhilash Bora and group both were declared third.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Devanand presented a brief note of the activities performed in the three days. Assistant Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Pankaj Mehta and Dr. Gaurav Sehgal as also Member Secretary, Dr. Govind Inakhaiya, Dr. Archana Kumari and Dr. Vandana Sharma were among other distinguished gathering present.
