SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday arrested three officials of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department for violating the recent government order for distribution of free ration to the flood-affected families of Kashmir.
“Three Ghat Munshis (storekeepers) were booked by South City Police for violation of recent government order for distribution of free ration to the flood affected families.
They have been arrested,” a police spokesman said.
He said cases have been registered against the employees under section 188 RPC.
He said police has appealed to public to report any violation with regard to essential commodities to the nearest police station so that action under law can be taken against the offenders and such violation can be effectively checked. (PTI)
