RAJOURI/DODA: Police on Saturday seized 68 wooden sleepers in two separate raids here at Rajouri and Doda Districts.
According to a report, SHO Police Station Darhal on a specific information seized 35 wooden sleepers under section 550 CrPC as part of Govt. property in Chowkian Forest area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Darhal. One person namely Mohd Iqbal son of Wazir Mohd resident of Chowkian Darhal claimed that he has extracted these sleepers after proper permission from the Forest Department. Police has taken up the matter with Forest Department in order to ascertain the genuineness.
Meanwhile, based on reliable information, a party of Police Station Thathri led by SI Ravi Parihar, SHO Police Station Thathri conducted raid in villages Bankaanthawa and Gosti Tehsil Chrialla and seized 16 illicit timber logs from Ravinder Singh son of Lakhmi Chand resident of Bankaanthawa and 17 illicit timber scants from Farooq Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Gosti Chiralla respectively.
A case under FIR No. 28/2015 and 29/2015 sections 379 RPC, 6 Forest Act was registered in Police Sttaion Thathri and accused persons have been taken into custody for further investigation.
Moreover, on a tip off, a party of Police Station Thathri seized 10 bags of illicit fertiliser (IFFCO Company) from the shop of Abdul Majeed son of Mohd. Shafi Lone resident of Bajja Tehsil Chirala at Sewa Chirala. A case FIR No. 27/2015 u/s 3/7 EC Act was registered in Police Station Thathri and accused person has been arrested for further investigation.
