Threats can never stop pilgrims to visit Shri Amarnath: VHP

JAMMU: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Friday said that neither any threat nor any difficulty can deviate Hindu devotees from visiting the Holy Shrine of Shri Amarnath.
Talking to reporters, State Senior Vice President VHP, Rajesh Gupta asked State Government to upgrade security in whole of Yatra area including highways leading to Base Camps of Baltal and Pahalgam for incident free, peaceful and comfortable Yatra for pilgrims.
“The statements of separatist elements regarding curtailment in Yatra period, coupled with law and order situation in the Valley seem to be aimed to discourage the pilgrimage, probably as part of the nefarious designs of subversive elements operating in the Valley” he mentioned.
Demanding a strict vigil and action on such elements who are trying to discourage the Yatris, Rajesh appealed to State Government to ensure best possible arrangements for pilgrims during Yatra and National Highway 1A leading to Pahalgam and Sonamarg be maintained.
VHP Patron, Dr Ramakant Dubey was also present in the press conference.
