JAMMU: Commerce College and Sarveshwar Cricket Club registered win and entered in the next round of ongoing Third Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Cup, held at Parade Cricket Ground, here on Monday.
Earlier, in the first match Commerce College defeated MAM College XI by 41 runs.
Batting first, Commerce College scored 143 runs in stipulated 16 overs for loss of five wickets. Somay Jain smashed 96 runs in 49 balls while Ritik and Subrat added 12 and 11 runs respectively. Ashutosh and Rohit took two wickets each for MAM College XI.
In reply, MAM College failed to achieve the target and made only 102 in 16 overs for five wickets thus lost. Bilal was the main scorer with 30 runs. Aditya, Ravi and Surya shared one wicket each for Commerce College. Somay Jain was declared Man of the Match.
In another match, Sarveshwar XI scripted a comfortable win against Krishna Sports XI.
Sarveshwar XI made 141 runs in 18 overs for seven wickets with Sunil (38) and Narotam (36) were the main scorers.
Ayaz and Aditya clinched two wickets each while Banu and Rohit shared one for Krishna Sports XI.
In reply, Krishna XI could not achieve the target and made only 122 in 16 overs for the loss of six wickets. Rohan made 41 runs and Attu added 26 runs to the tatol.
Narotam, Pardeep, Ankush, Sunny and Chander shared one wicket each for Sarveshwar XI. Narotam was adjudged Man of the Match.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sanju, Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod and Farooq.
SSP, PCR Jammu, Ashok Sharma was the Chief Guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams. He conveyed his best wishes to the participating teams for their best performance in the tournament.
He was accompanied by the Organizing Secretary, Rajesh Gill and Inspector Rajesh Anand.
