JAMMU: Inaugurated by Col Hari Singh, AO, the Third Abhishek Annual Sports Meet, which was began on 1st April, was concluded on Tuesday.
Chief Guest, Vidhi S. Singh, Chairman Tawi Group of Colleges presided over and gave away prizes to the winners of different events.
In his presidential address, the Chief Guest encouraged the participants for bettering their performance and also announced cash award of Rs. 5000 to the winners and Rs. 3000 to the runners up.
In cricket, Diploma 2nd semester won the final match and Hostel Warriors were runner-up. Novel Singh was declared Man of the Match while Kamal Singh was declared as Best Batsman and Aatish Bhagat was declared as Best Bowler.
In volleyball, Mechanical Department won the final match defeating Civil Department.
The gold medal winner were Nitin Kumar in shot put, Divanshu in discus throw, Kulwant Kumar in javelin throw, Munish Kumar in 100 mtr race, Talvinder Singh in Table Tennis and Kajal in Badminton.
In women section, Abhishek Hostel team won the final match and Tawi Warriors were declared runner-up.
Megha was declared Woman of the Match.
In the successful, organization of the sports meet and Anuj Tidyal (Member Secretary), Amandeep Singh and Rahul Kalia played a vital role under the guidance of Prof. B.R Moza, Convener sports Committee.
