Terror hideout busted; AK rifle, UBGL grenades recovered

JAMMU: A major tragedy was averted when a joint operation team of J&K police and Army unearthed a terror hideout in Padar forest near Dharamkote falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah in district Doda and recovered of huge quantity of arms and ammunition.
Reports revealed that Doda police and 4 RR (Rashtriya Rifles) on a tip off launched a search operation in Padar forest. The area was cordoned off and during searches a hideout of terrorists was unearthed.
Recoveries made from the spot include one AK-47 assault rilfe, one Chinese  pistol, one UBGL, 22 UBGL shells, one Desi Rifle double barrel, four rounds 12 bore, 11 magazines of AK 47, 1620 AK rounds, one AK magazine silencer, three pistols with 15 rounds, 4 RPG rounds, 110 mm rounds, 150 Pika rounds, 08 Chinese Grenades, 10 Hand Grenades, 11 detonators, two IED Fuses, two blankets, some utensils and other items.
It appears that the consignment of arms/ammunition was hidden by militants, who had been operating in the area or either been killed or migrated to the other area.
Since, no active militant is operating in this district. There is a possibility that this was an old dumped arms and ammunition which has been traced by the security forces.
Doda Police has already launched a massive campaign to make recoveries of arms and ammunition in the area.
