Terror hideout busted

Srinagar: Security forces on Monday busted a terror hideout in Shopian district of south Kashmir, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition including a rifle snatched from a police post in October last year, officials said.
Acting on a tip off about presence of terrorists in Tranz area of Shopian, police assisted by 44 troops of Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation in the orchards of Baba Khadar village this morning, a police spokesman said.
During the search operation, he said a hideout was busted inside a tin shed in one of the orchards of Tranz area.
The search of the hideout led to the recovery of a Self Loading Rifle (SLR), two of its magazines with 37 rounds, two rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), a grenade, 503 AK rounds, an AK Magazine, an ammunition pouch, solar charger, charger pin and a small black pouch containing medicines and a nail cutter, the spokesman said.
He said the SLR along with ammunition was snatched by militants from police guards at Samnoo village of Kulgam district on the intervening night of October 3 and 4 last year.
However, no one was arrested during the operation, the spokesman said
