Udhampur: A 16-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room after failing to clear his class 8 examination, police said on Wednesday.
Vikas Kumar was found hanging in his room at Madta village in Ramnagar tehsil of the district on Wednesday morning, they said.
Police said the student had failed in his class 8 examinations, the results of which were declared on Tuesday, adding that his body has been sent for postmortem.
