DODA: To rescue and transport back the stranded people of District Doda who were struck in Srinagar due to recent heavy rains and floods, a team of officers, officials and volunteers of District Red Cross Society Doda along with two vehicles was on Monday deputed to Srinagar by District Development Commissioner Doda Shyam Vinod Meena.
The team comprises of Dil Mir Choudhary, GM DIC Doda ( Head) , Dr. Anayat Rather, Medical Officer (ISM) and volunteers of District Red Cross Society Doda . A cheque of Rs. 5 lakh from District Red Cross Society Doda to Red Cross Society Srinagar was also sent through the team as financial assistance to rescue the stranded people in the Valley. Besides 400 liters of diesel, masks and gloves for the officials and volunteers was also sent through the team.
While flagging off the team, DDC directed the officers accompanying the team to coordinate with the administration in the valley to help them locate the stranded people of the district there and facilitate their hassle free transportation back to the district. He further said that out of two vehicles deputed to Srinagar, one will be utilised for transportation of rescued people of the district while another vehicle will be kept at the disposal of Red Cross Society Srinagar.
