JAMMU: To enhance the teaching skill, a workshop for Maths and Science teachers was organized in GD Goenka Public School by the Principal, Dr. R. P Singh.
Dr. Gagan Gupta (Associate Professor of Department of Physics NCERT) and Dr. Hukum Singh (Father of Maths Lab NCERT) were the resource person for Science and Maths respectively.
Dr. Gagan Gupta used simple stories and pictures from social media sites to explain concepts of Science. He also solved queries of the teachers. He performed simple experiments to make scientific concepts easily understandable to teachers.
Dr. Hukum interacted with teachers and explained that learning by doing will make Mathematics easy. He insisted that involvement of students is of utmost importance. Some very interesting activities were done by the resource person to develop individual mathematic kit. He also emphasised about the Maths Lab at all level of studies. He proved that if pedagogy is right maths become an easiest and interesting subject not a subject of fear.
The resource persons also interacted with students and motivated them to have scientific bent of mind.
