Teaching community should get ready for decisive struggle: Wani

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum showed strong resentment against the pending salaries of teachers/head teachers working under SSA, RMSA Schemes.
Speaking in the meeting held here on Sunday, President EJAC, Abdul Qayoom Wani described the six months delay in salary a gross human rights violation and violation of Civil Service Rules.
Wani said that silence from the people at the helm of affairs is shameful and highly condemnable. He warned the government to release the pending salaries of teachers within 10 days otherwise teachers will hit the roads once again. Wani and other leaders urged upon the government to redress the pay anomaly of masters as per the agreement, regularisation of all in-charge, lecturers, principals, headmasters, ZEOs, ZPOs, rural regularisation of contingent employees and implementation of Minim-um Wages Act, cash in leave in favour of teaching community which have been engaged in winter and are losing ten months salary which is a disparity.
Wani said that every government employee of State Government is getting ten months leave salary at the time of retirement but the builders of nation are punished by depriving them this benefit with no fault at theirs.
Wani appealed to the whole teaching community to be united irrespective of caste, creed, cadre, region and religion for decisive struggle which will be announced very soon by the Teachers Forum for redressal of all the above mentioned demands of teachers.
Others who attended the meeting include Ganesh Khajuria, Jamat-Ali-Aga, Rajender Gupta, Yograj Singh, Gopal Singh, Darshan Sharma, Ravinder Singh, Shsanker, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Bashir Ahmed Thoker, Ghulam Nabi Sofi, Latief Ahmed Jahra, Mohd Ashraf Wani and Javed Ahmed Malik.
