SAMBA: Calling upon the teachers to rededicate themselves with a sense of responsibility towards students the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga on Tuesday said that teachers are the best mentors who can shape the future of their students in a positive direction making them an asset for the society and the nation.
The minister was speaking at a function organised at Government RSM Higher Secondary School, Rahya in Samba to mark Teachers Day celebrations.
Recalling the role of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan for bringing various reforms in education sector, the minister called upon teachers to follow his principles for being a guiding light in the lives of their students. He urged them to rededicate themselves on this day with a sense of responsibility towards students and acquaint the students with the philosophies and principles of famous personalities of the country so that they can take inspiration from them.
The minister further said that teachers are architects who can transform the students into a good human being and responsible citizens with their teachings and experiences. He also asked the students to respect their teachers as they have been given the status of God in our culture.
Reiterating government’s commitment to develop and upgrade schools as model schools, the minister adopted Govt RSM Higher Secondary School, Rahya and said that best efforts would be made to equip this school with all latest infrastructure and facilities for providing better education to students. He said that the State Government is making concrete efforts to provide quality education and better infrastructure facilities in schools so that the people repose their faith in government schools.
Responding to the demand of construction of an Examination Hall in the school, the minister directed CEO, Samba to submit DPR for the project immediately and said that funds would also be released for the construction of water tank and the development of play ground in the school . A proposal would be sent to the Centre for constructing Sports Stadium in the area under Khelo India scheme, he added.
Appreciating the performance of students in cultural programmes giving the message of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, drug menace and female foeticide, the minister said that youth should actively be involved in awareness programmes.
The minister also planted a sapling in the premises of the school and distributed mementos among the participants who presented cultural programmes on the occasion.
ACD, Samba Tilak Raj Thapa, CEO, Samba OP Bhagat, Principal of the School Jagdish Sharma, staff of the school and students were present on the occasion.
