Teachers demand modification of transfer order

JAMMU: Teacher fraternity of the State on Saturday held a protest demanding modifications to irrational transfer order recently issued by the concerned authorities.
A large number of teachers coming from different districts of the Jammu province under the banner of J and K United School Teachers Association (USTA) gathered in the premises of Directorate of School Education Jammu and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Hari Singh President and Rajeev Kumar General Secretary of USTA demanded transfer of all masters and lecturers who have completed their tenure in far flung areas by adopting transparent transfer policy and modification to recent transfers order.
They also demanded adjustment of masters whose DPC was made in Feb 2014, release of pending salary of ReT teachers and masters, fourth and fifth installment of Sixth Pay Commission arrears and DA arrears of masters working under SSA, release of salaries of newly appointed teachers working against shifted posts since Jan, 2016 till date and removal of pay anomalies etc.
USTA leaders also condemned the non-release of salaries and other arrears to a large section of teaching fraternity for quite a long time which has made their life miserably deplorable.
They appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to provide transparent administration and concede the demands to avoid any further confrontation. They also appealed to the other trade unions of teaching community to come on joint platform to force the government to concede demands.
Others who addressed the protest include Pardeep Singh, Angad Singh, Sunil Thappa , Dr. Shashi Pal, Sajad Mirza, Roop Lal, Siraju Din , Zulfkar Ali Malik, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Madan Singh and Kishori Lal.
