Tara Chand demands early restoration of statehood with land, job rights

AKHNOOR: Working President J&K Congress and former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand met the prominent Congress leaders and workers at Akhnoor and discussed the organisational affairs and the burning issues of people.

Block Congress leaders and workers acknowledged pivotal issues related to strengthening of the Congress Party and came up with strategic decisions for the coming month.
Speaking on the occasion, former Deputy Chief Minister said any further delay by the Centre to restore full statehood would be detrimental to democratic culture and vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the region.
He said that Jammu has suffered more post August 2019 and our identity, status, culture, jobs, land and natural resources besides peaceful atmosphere are in danger.
He asserted that Congress would not rest till the Centre Government fulfills the commitment of statehood made on the floor of the Parliament, before the Supreme Court and the people of J&K.
Most surprising is the total silence of local MLAs of Jammu after getting huge mandate from people, he said.
Tara Chand said that people are suffering in the absence of powers with the elected government and various sections like unemployed youth, daily wagers, contractual, adhoc, consolidated temporary & NHM employees, Aaganwadi workers, ASHA workers are awaiting justice from the government.
He asked leaders to concentrate in their respective areas and be amongst the people to highlight their problems. He exhorted party leaders and workers to get united to fight the wrong and anti people policies, urging them to strengthen the Congress party at grass root, as that, it is the Congress party which has served and shall continue to serve the people.
