JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir, made it clear that the party stands for talks only within the framework of Indian Constitution and any party or organisation which honours the Constitution is welcomed to share his views and suggestions to bring long lasting peace and normalcy in the State.
This was stated by BJP State Chief Spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, while addressing media persons. Here on Thursday.
“The present unrest is due to the failure of the past governments of National Conference (NC) and Congress, as similar situations were faced in 2008 and 2010 and no blue print was formulated to deal with such developments,” Sethi said adding that it encouraged Pakistan, separatists, Hurriyat supporters and their over ground workers, who have once again created the turmoil.
“Had the past governments not adopted a soft approach towards these elements, the Valley would not have suffered losses of lives and property in the ongoing disturbances,” he said.
As far talks with neighbour country, Sethi said that the only issue which is unresolved between India and Pakistan is to get vacated PoJK from Pakistan and the party honours the 1994 unanimous resolution of Indian Parliament in this regard.
“The party is very clear on the issue of terrorism and stands for punishment to terrorists under the law of the land without any leniency or mercy,” he announced.
Charging some leaders of opposition parties to provoke the people by Tweeting and loading messages during the initial stage of the present outbreak of unrest, Sunil said that such acts of these leaders added fuel to the fire, which was very unfortunate and are therefore equally responsible for loss of lives and damages in the Valley.
Both, Sethi and State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan said that the party had entered into an alliance with the PDP to provide a responsible government with a pledge of ensuring equitable development of all the three regions.
“Ours is not an alliance of compulsion but the honour of the mandate of the people,” they added.
Expressing hope of restoration of normalcy in Valley at the earliest, Sethi and Balbir said that once the normal life starts there, the party would then stress upon the State Government to constitute a committee to formulate a blue print to deal with present like situations besides identifying and punishing the elements responsible for creating trouble in Kashmir.
