JAMMU: Expressing concern on prevailing unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, and heightened tension between India and Pakistan leading to mass migration of border dwellers to safer places, senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand appealed for taking all stakeholders on board to restore peace and normalcy.
In a handout released here on Thursday, the former Deputy Chief Minister stressed on ensuring basic amenities to displaced border dwellers, who were forced to leave their homes and hearth in the wake of unprovoked firing from across the border.
He made a fervent appeal to fellow Congressmen and party workers to remain alert and defeat the machinations of enemies within and outside the State.
He also urged the State Administration to ensure foolproof security and facilities like availability of accommodation, supply of drinking water and electricity, ration, toilets and medicare to those who have been uprooted from their native places due to Pak firing.
Meanwhile, putting to rest the propaganda unleashed by certain section of media regarding his integrity towards Congress, he firmly reiterated his resolve to work for strengthening the
party. He also reposed full faith in State and Central leadership of the Congress party.
