JAMMU: Jammu-Kathua Area Passanger Bus Service Union expressed great resentment towards the attitude of the State administration for not taking action against illegal operation of 2X2 buses.
“We have approached several times to the State administration about the illegal operation of 2X2 buses, operating on Jammu to Kathua and vice-versa without any time table and also violating the condition of Route Permit,” Kuldeep Singh, President of the Union, told reporters here on Friday. These buses have valid Route Permit from Kathua to Ramban, Ramnagar, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Katra, Reasi etc, but operating only on Jammu to Kathua route and vice-versa, he disclosed. The Transport Commissioner of J and K State and Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba also gave direction to ARTO Samba for implementation of single trip and also gave direction to operate these buses on their actual route i.e. from Kathua to Ramban, Katra, Reasi, Ramnagar, Akhnoor etc for smooth operation of the buses but all in vain, he said.
“Due to the illegal operation of these 2X2 buses, we are not in a position to ply our buses smoothly and suffering huge losses,” he mentioned. He requested the State Government to taken stern action against these buses at the earliest failing which they will take an agitation path.
