REASI: Social Welfare Department, Reasi, organised an awareness camp at Jij, Arnas on Monday.
The camp was attended by a large number of locals including Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, school teachers and students.
Meanwhile, with a view to streamline disbursement of pension, eliminate errors in beneficiaries’ list and filter out ineligible beneficiaries, social audit was also carried out by the department during the camp.
While addressing the gathering, District Social Welfare Officer highlighted various schemes of the department which included National Social Assistance Programme, Integrated Social Security Scheme, Contributory Social Security Scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme, Aam Admi Bima Yojna and Rehabilitation of Militancy Victims Scheme.
He also urged upon the teachers for timely submission of scholarship proposals of eligible students under various categories.
