Swachh Bharat Drive by Rashtriya Rifles

UDHAMPUR: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at Bagga under the aegis of Uniform Force is carrying out a week long cleanliness drive in Mahore region.
The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in close coordination with the civil administration is bringing in awareness amongst the local populace by planting trees, education on eradication of open defecation and use of soak and drainage pit. Various items like dustbins, brooms and plants were distributed to the villagers as part of Swachh Bharat Campaign.
A lecture on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was also organized by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion for the villagers. The lecture was aimed at generating awareness about the importance of hygiene and sanitation. The important issues like maintenance and repair of sewage lines, proper disposal of organic waste, recycling of solid waste and keeping the surroundings clean were deliberated upon.
Indian Army has taken the initiatives to spread awareness on such social and civil topics which are essential for the progress of these remote villages and will improve their quality of life. The Locals of the area appreciated the efforts of Indian Army for organizing such cleanliness drive.
