AKHNOOR: In response to call given by the Prime Minister Narinder Modi for Swachh Bharat on 2nd October, as a mass movement to realise Gandhiji`s dream of a clean India, SBI Akhnoor launched Swachh Bharat campaign so as to achieve maximum cleanliness. On the occasion Swachhta Shapath (Pledge) was administered to all employees of the branch.
At the end Chief Manager thanked the staff as well as local participants for their voluntarily participation in this noble and great cause.
RAMBAN: Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, an awareness programme was conducted by NABARD Ramban in Gram Panchayat Seri-A of Ramban District which was attended by Mohd. Illiyas Wani (Lead District Manager), Mohan Singh (FLC, Ramban)and ShIqbal Ahmed Sarpanch Seri-A besides various villagers of Gram Panchayat were also present in the programme.
Nikhil Sharma, DDM NABARD informed the villagers about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched under mission mode in the entire country on the 145th Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. During the programme DDM NABARD administered an oath taking ceremony under which all the participants took oath to keep their surrounding clean and to devote at least 100 hours towards this campaign and to motivate 100 more people to do the same.
RAJOURI: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri in association with CMC Santhom Social Service Society, Nowshera organised Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October 2014 in village Bajhnowa, block Nowshera, district Rajouri. The mission was attended by the members of Self Help Groups formed by CMC Santhom Social Service Society, Nowshera under NABARD project. The mission was also attended by Capt. Jagdish Singh, Sarpanch Panchyat Bajhnowa and other villagers from the village Bajhnowa. Des Raj, District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri highlighted the objective of mission to the participants. Sr. Anne Joe, General Secretary, CMC Santhom Social Service Society, Nowshera motivated the members of Self Help Groups to keep their houses and surroundings clean. The Sarpanch Capt. Jagdish Singh addressing the members informed that this is the mission and we should take responsibility to keep our houses and surroundings clean.
BARI BRAHMANA: Under Swachh Bharat Mission, Geeta Bhardwaj, Branch Manager, The New India Assurance Company Limited, Bari Brahmana, Jammu along with the staff members of the branch office started cleanliness drive and took the Swachhta Pledge.
Geeta Bhardwaj, while discussing the issue with her staff desired to cover this Mission from 2014 to 2019 wherever we may be posted during this period.

KISHTWAR: As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Govt. of India across the country, Dulhasti Power Station of NHPC Limited observed the campaign from 25th Sep to 2nd Oct 2014. During the week, cleanliness drive was undertaken by officers/employees at various sites of Dulhasti like dam, power house, shalimar area, Admn. Block and colonies.
Swachhta Shapath (Pledge) was administered to the employees of Dulhasti/CISF Personnel and wards of employees by Arvind Bhat, General Manager, Dulhasti. Before dispersal, cleanliness drive was once again taken up by all the employees under the supervision of Bhat.
Earlier as part of the Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan to keep the schools clean, Bhat laid foundation stone for construction of toilets in five Govt. Schools like GPS, Machigad, GPS, Bindraban, Girls High School, Sangrambhatta, GPS, Hasti and GPS, Traksana in the presence of Bipin Gupta, Chief Engineer (Civil), NHPC, Sr. Officers of NHPC, Panchs/Sarpanchs of the area, Subash Sharma, Zonal education Officer, headmasters/teachers of the schools.
R S PURA: BJP R S Pura unit under the leadership of Senior BJP leader Dr. Gagan Bhagat launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at R.S Pura. Apart from cleaning the surroundings, Dr. Gagan appealed to the people at R S Pura not to throw garbage in the open as India has become a big garbage dump and the Union Government led by Narendra Modi has pledged to change this image. The prominent persons among those who participated include S. Harbhajan Singh Pammi, Brijesh Rana, Akash Chopra, Harbhajan Singh, Raj Kumar Babbi and Adv. Amit Sharma.
HIRANAGAR: Municipal Committee Hiranagar organised Swachch Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with Shakti Punj, a social organisation of Hiranagar. On the occasion SDM Sohan Lal was the Chief Guest. Besides SDM Tehsildar Meenakshi Jasrotia, AEO, Jodhaj, Naib Tehsildar, SHO Anroop Sharma Sanitary Inspector Angrej Din, President Shakti Punj, Kuljeet Singh, EX Vice Chairman Bharti Sharma ,Advocate, Th. Ranjeet Singh were present in the cleanliness drive. General Secretary of Shakti Punj, Lukhinder Singh carried out the proceedings of the function and presented oath to all of them. AEO also assured that the solid waste management project is in process. Number of citizens of Hiranagar Mohan Lal, Harnam Singh, Dheeraj Gupta, Subash Chandar, Mukesh Padha, Ashwani Sharma, Dr, Badyal etc presented their thoughts. Later on a awareness drive was carried out from the bazaar in which number of people participated and cleaned the streets.
BILLAWAR: with a aim to carry forward the message given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Swachh Bharat , BJP leader Narayan Dutt Tripathi initiated a cleanliness and plantation drive in Durang, Phinter, Dewal, Nagrota Gujroo area of Billawar Constituency. People of area participated in the mission cleanliness with full enthusiasm. Tripathi urged the people to develop a habit of keeping environment clean and also encourage others for the same.
Narayan Dutt Tripathi along with other BJP workers also planted various plants on the road side so as to give boost to clean and green environment. Others who joined the mission include Kuldeep Abrol, BJP Mandal Pradhan, Surinder Billoria, Suresh Upadhyay, Gopal Krishan, Jia Lal, Makhan Gurmeet, Shotu and others.
THANAMANDI: NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi launched the cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Principal of the College Dr B.B Sharma along with the staff members and the students took active part in the cleanliness drive. Colourful placards with slogans and messages were displayed by the students to spread the awareness of cleanliness among the masses. NSS volunteers cleaned the entire college campus. Programme Officer NSS Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather asked the students to make their surroundings viz class rooms, play grounds clean not only for today but it should become a regular exercise so that we can have a clean environment for a better and healthy life tomorrow.
KATRA: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organised a sanitation drive at Katra, the Base Town for pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji.
Officers and a large number of employees of the Shrine Board participated in the sanitation drive which was organised under the close supervision of Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, at Niharika, Bus Stand, Circular Road between Niharika and Multi-purpose Sports Stadium, road between Bus Stand and Darshani Deodi, areas around various establishments of the Shrine Board at Katra etc. Vehicles of the Shrine Board were also mobilised in the sanitation drive to carry the garbage.
Among those who participated in the sanitation drive included Dr. M. K Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Dr. Gopal Sharma, DDM, Sham Singh, Deputy Manager, other officers and employees of the Shrine Board.
SAMBA: Cleanliness and awareness drive at village Daboh which is also the birth place of Shaheed Sepoy Nek Ram of Punjab Regiment was launched by IRP 17th Bn. Samba in collaboration with civilians of the area under the command of Roop Raj Bhagat-SSP, Commandant IRP 17th Bn. to begin the day with Swachh Bharat campaign. In addition to civilians of the area, Sudershan Kumar Bakshi-SP, Dy. Commandant IRP 17th Bn. Bharat Bushan Sharma, Dy.S.P Adjutant IRP 17th Bn. and Nawaz Ahmad, Dy.S.P. Quarter Master IRP 17 Bn. were present in the drive. Cleanliness drive was also launched at all Coy Headquarters and their places of deployment which include Police Headquarter Gulshan Ground Jammu, Channi Himmat, SIDCO Samba and Railway Track from Tarore Bridge to Londi Morh. Cleanliness drive and message of encouragement conveyed was appreciated by the locals of the area.
Meanwhile Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj a Social Volunteer Organisation working to promote education, environment and nation-hood among the general masses and students community in particular celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and started the campaign Aadarsh Swachh Gram and Paryavaran Abhiyan with the message Swachh Ghar, Swachh Gram. On the occasion saplings of fruit plants were also planted at the houses of Dr Ved Parkash Shastri, Mohini Devi and Ex HFO Khem Raj Sharma. All these activities were performed under the guidelines of Col (Retd) R.K Sharma, Chairman ABS, Dr Daljeet Singh, President ABS, Ex ZEO Khem Raj Khajuria and Dr Charanjeet Sharma.
REASI: THE NSS unit of Govt. Degree College , Reasi organised three days cleanliness drive in the college campus in connection with Swachh Bharat as mass movement to fulfill dream of Gandhiji.
Principal of the College ( Chief Guest )Prof . Kaushal Samotra highlighted the aim of the mission whereas, Dr. Arsh Deep Singh ( IFS (Probation) , ACF ) Forest Deptt. Distt. Reasi guided the students to act as a patrons for the trees and should take proper care of the trees planted during the drive.
The NSS Volunteers Tarsem , Shiwani , Suridhi who presented their views on environment , nature , role of society and importance of trees were highly appreciated by the audience.
Dr. Rajesh Sharma , NSS Programme Officer gave a detailed note of the activates conducted during the drive.
Rakesh Sharma ( Range Officer , Forest Deptt. Reasi ) and faculty members were also presented during the occasion . Madam Jasmeet Kour ( Deptt. Of Enviornmental Science ) presented vote of thanks.
RAMBAN: District administration Ramban launched Swachh Bharat” sanitation drive in Ramban District. In this regard an eventful programme was organised by the Rural Development Department Ramban in collaboration with army under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Faroq Shah Bukhari.
The programme was attended by all district and sectoral officers, hundreds of students of various schools, employees, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens of Ramban. The mega awareness camp in the grounds of Higher Secondary School Ramban was followed by sanitation drive through the main road and alleys of Ramban town.
Ashok Kumar MLA Ramban was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas prominent among those who attended included, Brigadier Bubesh Kumar, Nawab Din ADC Ramban , Dr Tahir Firdous ACR Ramban and senior army and civil officers.
The participants were given awareness about the importance of Swatch Bharat Campaign and different facets of Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan programme by, Assistant Commissioner (Dev) Ramban, Dr Arvind Karwani, District Panchayat Officer Gul Hassan Kraipak . The different aspects of personal, community and the environmental hygiene were delved at length by the speakers.
Brigadier Bubesh Kumar S, SM, CDr 11 Sectt RR talking at length on importance of sanitation assured the civil administration and general public of the co-operation of army in maintaining a neat and clean town.
The Swatch Bharat campaign rally through the Ramban town for cleanliness of garbage of the town by the rallyists evoked keen interest in the local shopkeepers and onlookers. The general public was educated about need of proper garbage disposal and cleanliness through motivational slogans, pamphlets and other IEC material.
BANI: The students and NSS volunteers of Degree College, Bani launched a massive cleanliness drive in the Sub-District Hospital, Bani. The staff and students were administered the Swachh Shapath (Pledge) by the Principal of the College, Dr. Naresh Kumar Gupta. Thereafter, the principal, NSS Programme Officers, staff and NSS volunteers marched towards Bani Hospital where they were warmly greeted by the Block Medical Officer, Dr. Liaqat Ali, other doctors and nursing staff. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Liaqat Ali, lauded the efforts of NSS unit of the college.
The sanitation drive was conducted for three hours within and outside the hospital premises and a camp was organised by the NSS volunteers so as to spread the message of cleanliness among the masses. The reputed citizens of Bani, addressed the volunteers and hailed their efforts.
KATHUA: Swachh Bhart Abhiyan was launched by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua at Dream Land Park, Kathua. Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudahry, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was Chief Guest on the occasion and function was presided over by G. Prasanna Ramaswamy Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua.
Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudahry administered the cleanliness pledge to the senior officers of the district administration, prominent citizens, National Youth Corps Volunteers, members of Youth Clubs etc. and appealed them to actively participate in the Swachh Bharat Mission, to make it a massive mass movement to make India Clean and Green.
Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua planted a sapling in Dream Land Park.
Som Datt Zard, DYC, NYK briefed that all Mentor Youth Clubs in all blocks are organising Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in their respective villages and a massive campaign shall be launched through NYC volunteers by involving Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals.
In this programme Ram Rattan, Chief Planning Officer, Rajesh Gupta District Informatics Officer-NIC, Deputy Director R D, District Indu Jamwal Information Officer, District Agriculture Officer, Babu Ram Assistant Director, Planning, Chief Executive Officer, MC Kathua, District Statistical Officer, National Youth Corps volunteers, other officials, Youth Club members etc. participated.
Meanwhile NYK Poonch organised a programme Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan at HQ Nehru Yuva Kendra District Poonch in which more than 100 youths from different Youth Clubs and 22 NYCs participated.
UDHAMPUR: DDM, NABARD observed Swachch Diwas in Udhampur District as a part of ongoing cleanliness drive in the country on the occasion of Mahatama Gandhi Jayanti. Programme was organised at village Manpa near Udhampur where around 50 women members of Self Help Groups were involved in the drive. These SHGs are promoted by Gramin Pragati Sangathan with assistance from NABARD. Manohar Lal, DDM, NABARD, Udhampur and Om Prakash, President of the NGO led the cleanliness drive. The rural women cleaned the areas around their respective houses and then jointly cleaned the streets of the village.
Similarly, two more such programmes were organised at village Sudhmahadev and Gauri Kund wherein members of various farmers clubs gathered and participated in the Swachch Diwas celebrations.
MIRAN SAHIB: NITS Polytechnic , Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib , Jammu organised a special assembly to pay rich tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri who preached non-violence and cleanliness. After paying floral tributes NITS Polytechnic started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan . More than 700 students , 100 staff members , HoDs of various Depts of the institute along with the management participated in the event to launch the cleanliness drive and enthusiastically joined the campaign to help in achieving the dream of Swachh Bharat as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking on the occasion the Director of the Institute Savinder Gupta said that NITS Swachh Bharat campaign is aimed at cleaning up the institute and its environs and improving sanitation facilities.
Tejasvi, Student Welfare Officer of the Institute raised a slogan Kuch Acha Karke Dikhana Hai Swachh Bharat Hame Banana Hai which was echoed by all the staff and students present in the assembly.
Shilpa Lecturer Computer Branch and Sahil Gupta Sr. Lecturer Mechanical Branch made all the students and staff take a Cleanliness Pledge.
BHADARWAH: The students of Hr Sec School Chinta, Hr Sec School Bhalra, Hr Sec School Bhadarwah, High School Drodu, Bhartya Vidya Mandir High School Bhadarwah, Bhartia Vidya Mandir Ghata, Blue Ribbon Higher Secondary school Bhadarwah along with staff headed by concerned principals and headmasters launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and cleaned the premises of schools, surrounding towns and villages.
Meanwhile Bhadarwah Municipal Committee also carried out cleanliness drive under the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan in Pasri Adda, Seri Bazar, and Link Road. Garbage, horticulture waste and debris were removed and lifted from the open spaces during the drive. Students of various schools also conducted rallies to spread the message of cleanliness among the residents.
