JAMMU: Taking serious note of more than 1,900 pending cases and complaints, the state vigilance commission has summoned Deputy Commissioners and vigilance officers of the revenue department. The commission also warned officials against shielding corrupt officials, and asked the department to dispose of the cases speedily. The decision was taken at a meeting convened to review the progress of the complaints, enquires and regular departmental actions which are pending with different offices of revenue department.
The Commission said no substantial progress was found in disposal of complaints and enquiries pending with the revenue department for action, the commission said. Apart from 91 cases of regular departmental actions forwarded by Vigilance Organisation, there are 1831 complaints and enquiries pending with Revenue Department, a spokesperson said.
