SVC seeks ATR from SMC Commissioner over Master Plan violations

JAMMU: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) on Tuesday sought action taken report (ATR) from Commissioner, SMC over violation of Srinagar Master Plan and construction of multi-storeyed building in the summer capital.
The SVC took a strong note of alleged violations of Srinagar Master Plan allegedly by a beneficiary in connivance and conspiracy with officers and officials of different Government Departments particularly with the patronage of the officials of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and sought action taken report from the Commissioner, SMC in the light of allegations levelled, SVC spokesman said.
The SVC took cognizance and sought report after enquiring from the Commissioner, SMC Srinagar, over a complaint lodged by the residents of Shah Anwar Colony, Hyderpora Bypass, Srinagar regarding construction of a multi-storeyed building at Hyderpora Bypass Srinagar adjacent to National Highway, opposite Classical Hospital in “gross violation” of Srinagar Master Plan Guidelines, he said.
“The report received from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, prima-facie reveals that a multi-storeyed building had been raised by the violator in contravention of Srinagar Master Plan and the provisions of The J&K Municipal Corporation Act, 2000,” he said.
SVC has directed the Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation to submit action taken against all those involved by next date of hearing.
