JAMMU: State Vigilance Commission (SVC), after closing at Srinagar on 27th October, has re-opened here on Monday.
Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Kuldeep Khoda, accompanied by Vigilance Commissioners Dr R.K Jerath and Gous-ul-Nisa besides other senior officers of the Commission went round all the sections and took stock of the facilities made available to the officials of the commission.
While interacting with the employees the Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) underlined need for maintaining punctuality in the office and asked the employees to work in close coordination with other departments to ensure that maximum complaints, being received by the Commission, are attended. Underlining requirement of up-gradation in facilities in some rooms, the CVC directed Secretary to take up the matter with MD, JKPCC and get the work done early.
The Chief Vigilance Commissioner also enquired from the employees of the Commission about the provision of residential accommodation to them by the estates department at Jammu.
Later the CVC had a meeting with the officers of the Commission and discussed the functioning of the Commission besides the internal issues, which require urgent attention.
While getting feedback from the officers about the status of the complaints, the CVC called for quick disposal of the cases and come up to the expectation of the people in checking corruption in Government Departments. Stressing for adopting time management, the CVC said “Our motive should be to attend to maximum complaints in minimum time”. He said the Commission has mandate to eradicate corruption in the State and asked officers to do their best for acquiring the purpose for which the Commission has been constituted.
The publication of Half Yearly Report also came up for the discussion in the meeting and the CVC asked for incorporation of certain new sections to make it more informative and purposeful for the readers.
Among others, Secretary, Jatinder Singh, Chief Prosecution Officer, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, FA/CAO, Amit Kumar, Senior Prosecution Officers and Prosecution Officers of the Commission were present in the meeting.
