Consequently, it was forwarded to the indenting department- Planning Development and Monitoring Department which. The concerned department approved our selection list and subsequently called us to submit our verification rolls and within the stipulated time frame almost all the candidates have gone through requisite verification process. Since then there have been more than six months but our formal joining letters has not been notified. The letter further stated, “We have high hopes from current LG administration as this is the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that a common man dreamed of getting employment in the government sector. Fair and transparent recruitment came as a blessing and we figured in the selection list with our hard work and passion. Despite multiple knockings at the doors of concerned authorities we are still clueless, joining less and hopes are diminishing with every passing day. Majority of us belong to poor families, this job had enlightened in us and our families new hopes about our future lives. There’s an uncertainty pertaining to the date of joining. Some of us might have joined some private firms but a contract needs to be signed for a stipulated amount of time, which we can’t afford due to the ambiguity faced currently comfort.” “Our department (Planning and Monitoring) has repeatedly assured us that you don’t need to worry as your matter is being sorted out and we just have to sort some technical issues. As of now there seems to be never ending wait as our issues have not been resolved so far. Running from pillar to post in government offices has certainly taken a toll on our pockets. A poor man’s child can’t afford to visit the secretariat and offices due to his/her limited resources. An Intervention from your side may witness a poor father living his rest of life in some sort of deserving comfort.
“The file is currently with the General Administrative Department. Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta is looking after the matter and the decision pertaining to creating of posts lies within his jurisdiction. We are pleading your good-self to personally intervene into our issue and pass necessary directions to the concerned authorities for favourable action so that we may not suffer any further.”
