REASI: Police arrested two persons including a woman, who happened to be the wife of deceased after a suspected suicide case turned out to be murder.
SSP Reasi, Tahir Bhat while interacting with media persons informed that on 6th August 2013, information was received at Police Post Shiv-Khori about one person namely Gurmeet Singh, son of Suram Singh, resident of Sangar Mohare Kharabat Tehsil Pouni District Reasi had committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. To ascertain the cause of death an inquest proceeding under Section 174 Cr.PC. was initiated at Police Station Ransoo.
“During the course of investigation, the findings of FSL /Post mortem report and Query report of Medical Officer ascertained that the death was caused due to forcible closure of mouth and nose, and tying the ligature on neck resulting in asphyxia. Subsequently, the aforesaid inquest proceeding under Section 174 Cr.PC was converted into case FIR No 15/2015 under Section 302 RPC at the same police station. During investigation, Special Investigation Team headed by DySP Headquarters Reasi including SHO Ransoo was constituted by SSP Reasi. Special Investigation Team succeeded in solving the case and two culprits including wife of the deceased namely Kamlesh and his brother Raj Singh both residents of Kharabat-Sangar, Tehsil Pouni District Reasi were found involved and were arrested. After sustained interrogation, the duo confessed to have committed the crime”, the police official informed.
