Suicide bid by IAS officer; Dy. Speaker seeks ATR

SRINAGAR: Minister for Law and Justice, Abdul Haq on Wednesday said that government has already shifted an IAS officer involved in the case for attempted suicide. He said that government will further examine  filing of FIR in the incident.
The minister was replying after Javed Mustafa Mir raised the issue of suicide bid by a lady IAS officer and sought government action in this regard.
M.Y Tarigami and Devender Rana also expressed their concerns. Tarigami said that a report detailing the implementation of directions issued by the House in the current session be brought before the House.
Sat Paul Sharma also raised the issue and said that government should treat it swiftly. He said a precedent should be set by way of taking strict measures adding that case should be dealt under appropriate laws.
The Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmad Gurezi directed the Government to come out with Action Taken Report on 30th June. He said that government should explain what steps it has taken in the aftermath of the incident. He also asked the government to clear its stand on filing FIR.
