Successfully tackling Ronaldinho most cherished moment: player

CANDOLIM (GOA): An ardent fan of Ronaldinho, Indian Futsal player Mohammed Islam says successfully tackling the Brazilian football legend was the moment he would cherish during the ongoing Premier Futsal here.
Islam, who plays for Kolkata 5’s, had the distinction of becoming the first Indian player to score a goal in Premier Futsal. The Goa leg of the tournament is going on at an indoor stadium in Mapusa near here.
“When I was playing against Ronaldinho (in the game against Goa 5’s), at that time, I had successfully tackled him and that’s the best movement so far for me in the league. I tackled a international player and if I had not done that, the opposition could have scored a goal,” Islam told PTI here.
“I am big Ronaldinho fan and playing against him was a good feeling. We have also spoken to several marquee players of the team. They praised our game and advised us to play football with both head and heart,” he added.
For the 22-year-old player and others like him, Premier Futsal was a big platform to showcase their skills.
Interestingly, he did not have any clue about futsal and the league before
actually playing in the
tournament. (PTI)
