JAMMU: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Friday appealed to the Chairman of the Seventh Pay Commission (retd) Justice Ashok Mathur to start discussion with the representative of Central/State Government Employees Federations and Pensioners Associations.
He added that the pay commission should submit their report to the Central Government at appropriate time, so that it will enable to implement its report from 1st January, 2016.
Addressing a NMC workers rally here on Friday, Shastri urged Mathur to recommend to the Central Government to grant 20 per cent interim relief in favour of both Central and State Government employees and pensioner till the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendation in view of increasing prices of the essential commodities and inflation.
Whenever the recommendation of the Commission is submitted to the Central Govt. for their implementation, the Commission should also extend this recommendation to the State Governments in General and J and K in particular, he said.
“Fifty per cent of DA should be forthwith merged into basic pay as early as possible in favour of employees and pensioners,” NMC Chief added.
Shastri also insisted on the regularization of all daily wagers who have completed seven years of service in March 2014, adding their monthly emoluments should be raised to Rs. 10,000 per month.
