Students must respect parents, teachers: Khanna

JAMMU: National Vice President and Jammu and Kashmir Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna on Friday said that parents and teachers deserve respect and recognition as they are the persons who chisel the young minds into high achievers for the benefit of the entire country and the society.
Khanna, flanked by BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma and other party leaders, was addressing the meritorious students and their parents, here. He gave away special mementos to the position holders in which girls outnumbered the boys.
“Students should always show respect and regard for their parents and the teachers,” he said and counselled them to concentrate on acquiring good and positive knowledge and talents and not to shove superfluous and useless knowledge and facts into their minds, thereby leaving little room for memorising and remembering good and positive things.
He also advised them to always endeavour for high achievements by working hard and should never be motivated by the feelings of jealousy.
“It is very gladdening that now girls are outshining the boys in academic fields and the day is not far when they will be in the forefront in all other fields as equals to their male compatriots,” BJP State Chief said.
He further informed that all the MPs, MLAs and MLCs of BJP have adopted schools to convert them into Model Schools equipped with the best educational tools and tutors so that they act as inspiration for the entire educational sector of the State to improve their quality. This would benefit the pupils and the entire young generation of the State.
State Secretary Ch. Vikram Randhawa conducted the proceedings of the programme.
State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State General Secretaries S. Narinder Singh, Pawan Khajuria and Harinder Gupta, MLC Ajatshatru Singh and State Incharge Beti Bachao Beti Padao Campaign S.S Bijral were also present.
