R.S PURA: In order to bridge the gap between police and public, Range Police Jammu on Wednesday organised a visit of students of Police Public School Miran Sahib to Police Station R.S Pura in order to familiarise students regarding functioning of the police station. The students were temporarily assigned different roles as SHO/Munshi/Duty Officer etc. and complainants were advised to share their complaints with the students who were assigned different roles in the police station in order to know the kind of treatment public expects from the Munshis, Duty Officers and SHOs while visiting police station in connection with lodging of their complaints.
DIG Jammu on the occasion said that this programme has been organised to ensure people friendly policing at police station level as per the directions of senior officers. All the officers and jawans present in the police station were made to watch the whole show and they were directed by DIG Jammu to bring behavioural changes in them as per the expectations of the general public in order to gain public confidence and serve the society in a desired manner as such steps are bound to bring good name to the police force. DIG Jammu also said that such programmes have been held at various police stations in Distt. Jammu and this time students of Police Public School were especially selected for visit to police station.
Students who acted as SHO/Munshi/Duty Officer etc. also said that the job of the police officers/jawans in the police station is very challenging as practically it is very difficult to know the authenticity of the complaint and to solve the problems of the complainants on spot and to take decision within no time.
DIG Jammu was accompanied by Randhir Singh SP Hqrs. Jammu and Davinder Singh SDPO R.S Pura.
