It is widely welcomed and hailed the landmark judgment of Supreme Court of India for making admissions to MBBS/BDS courses in the medical colleges on the basis of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) only and also being hoped that Court’s decision on holding common entrance test across the country both for government and private colleges will ensure justice to the students of Jammu and Kashmir State as well. This has been stated by many leaders of various political parties as reported by print and electronic media in day-to-day news. Though it is a welcom step but there are some doubts in the minds of students/ aspirants which are highly needed to be clarified by the Exam conducting agency like CBSE so that stakeholders may not be confused over pattern and process of the NEET-II.
Supreme Court has agreed for protecting interests of the students of J and K on the plea of State Government for providing reservations as per State laws for seats in the State. But, the day after the Supreme Court upheld that states cannot hold separate examinations for MBBS and BDS, aspirants from J and K are literally confused over the pattern and process for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) to be held on 24th July this year. As the basic questions of the students are yet not being answered either by the NEET-II authorties or the Jammu and Kashmir Government over the issue.
1. Most students are under impression that the syllabus of NEET and CET is different and it would be difficult for them to cover any new syllabus in short duration as NEET-II is scheduled to be held on 24th July 2016.
2. This year AIPMT (NEET-I) held on 1st May had no Exam centre in J and K, Will there be centre for NEET-II Jammu and Kashmir?
3. Do they have to fill up fresh forms for the NEET-II or their CET forms will be considered as NEET application forms?
Aspirants are generally confused and they do not know where to approach for NEET-II related doubts. Your paper is always front-runner to highlight the genuine grievances of the public in general and students in particular, may help to sort out the doubts of MBBS/BDS aspirants by bridging the gap between aspirants and the authorties.
