Strengthen health care services in rural, remote areas: Rana

DANSAL: Stressing upon the need to strengthen the health care services in rural and remote areas, MLA Nagrota, Devender Singh Rana today called for expanding outreach of schemes designed to improve health in the rural areas.
“Health facilities should be given special attention because of the challenges and scattered population and difficult terrain”, Rana said while chairing meeting of the Governing Body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the Primary Health Centre Dansal and Keri.
Rana announced Rs. 10 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund for digitization of 300 MA X-ray plant at PHC Dansal.
Stressing upon the need of organizing medical camps in remote areas, Rana informed that he has spoken with the authorities of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal-Katra for holding fortnightly medical camps at the PHC Dansal and has asked the BMO, Dansal to coordinate with the Narayana Hospital for holding these camps so that the best health care facilities are provided to the needy people in the rural areas.
Highlighting the need for expanding medicare facilities in the remote areas of the Blocks, Rana asked the BMOs for organizing Health Camps in each and every Panchayat of the Blocks and directed them to prepare roster for smooth conduct of these camps in the Panchayats.
Rana also stressed for improvement of Health Management Information System (HMIS) and Mother & Child Tracking System (MCTS) /Immunization and monitoring the performance of ASHAs and FMPHWs and asked the BMOs to nominate Nodal Officers for the same and prepare lists of all the beneficiaries.
He also impressed upon the medicos to aware the general public about the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, to stop female foeticides.
While calling upon the medicos and para-medics to work with devotion, Rana said effective measures are needed to be taken for checking infant mortality and ensuring mother-child health care.
In this context, he emphasized the crucial role of Anganwari Workers, saying their involvement in reaching out to the targeted segments of society is imperative. He also stressed the need for ASHA performance tracking for effective mother-child care. He also stressed upon the proper disposal of the Bio Medical Waste.
Those who were present in the meeting included Block Medical Officer PHC Dansal Dr. Shamim , Block Medical Officer PHC, Keri Dr. Manzoor Hussain besides all member of the Rogi Kanyan Samiti.
