Stray dogs are a social responsibility

AYANA GANDOTRA

Stray dogs are most neglected creatures around us. Though killing and torturing human is considered to be crime but on the other hand we don’t even mind with the torturing of street dogs. Life of a street dog is miserable. Street dogs are wandering on roads without food. Many are suffering from dieses and are malnourished. Street dogs end up being beaten to death or die mercilessly in road accidents. Many dogs die due to ill treatment and no timely medical assistance. The dog who is hurt, ill or abandoned is very anxious and scared. In this vulnerable state the dog may attack out of fear and pain. Stray animals are a social responsibility. Raising awareness about animal cruelty as a criminal offence is the need of the hour. Even while its hard to stop every crime, the least that can be done is to inform people about the rules against animal mistreatment. Children are the future of any nation. The nation whose children are aware and understands their social responsibility are the assets to any nation. Schools kids play a vital role in this.
Ayana Gandotra of grade 11th student of GD Goenka public school has helped tons of injured and homeless puppies. She has saved them from harsh winters and provided nutritious diet to them as they were weak and malnourished. If other schools and children understand this as their social responsibility , then world would be a better place to live.
