Stop playing politics on refugees: Manjit

STATE TIMES NEWS
VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) General Secretary Manjit Singh condemned State Government for failing to settle refugees.
Addressing a monthly meeting of the party workers in Vijaypur, Manjit Singh said that the refugees have been waiting for their settlement and mitigation of their issues which have been pending since decades.
It was hoped with the BJP ruling Jammu Kashmir and India that will fulfil their demands soon after coming to power but this did not happen.
He said that the package which was sent by then Congress Government in State has also been delayed.
“Refugees settlement and rehabilitation which has been considered as humanitarian issue by the present coalition in the Agenda of Alliance, has been turned playing politics over the issue,” the former minister said.
He said that the refugees would come on the roads with regard to their demands, if the BJP Government which in coalition with PDP continues to delay their one time settlement.
He appealed to all the political parties to get united and settle the demands of the West Pakistani refugees who deserve to be given citizenship rights in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that their relatives who settled in Punjab and other part of the country have all the rights which an Indian citizen has but in Jammu and Kashmir their struggle has not ended.
