RAMBAN : Police on Tuesday recovered the idol which was stolen by some unknown persons from Shankhpal Devta Temple at Fagmulla, Ukhral.
According to a report, on 4th June 2015, a report was received late night at Police Post Ukhral that an old stone idol from Shankhpal Devta Temple at Fagmulla, Ukhral has been stolen by unidentified thieves.
Accordingly an FIR was lodged at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation was started. Keeping in view, the religious sentiments of a community, a special team was constituted led by In-Charge Police Post Ukhral for speedy recovery of Idol. Today, the said idol has been recovered from Fagmula after hectic efforts and was handed over to Mayaram, Priest of Shankhpal Devta Temple. Efforts to manhunt the culprits are under process.
