State volleyball team leaves for Chennai meet

JAMMU: State Volleyball team on Tuesday left for participation in the 63rd Senior National Volleyball Championship to be held at Chennai from 3rd to 11th January.
Earlier, the selected probables underwent a 21-day coaching camp conducted by State Sports Council under the supervision of Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, Rajan Sharma at MA Stadium, here. Before their departure, the team members interacted with Chief Guest, Rashid Ahmed, Sports Council member.
President of the Volleyball Association of J and K, Raj Daluja also wished the teams for better results in the National Championship.
The team is accompanied by Sujjad Hussain, Naresh Kumar and Akbar Ali a Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Manager respectively. The State team has been placed in group-E with Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar and Maharashtra.

The Team: Imtiaz Ahmed, Rajinderpal Singh, Zorabar Singh, Danish Khajuria, Jaffar Hussain, Ashiq Hussain, Mohd. Imran, Romi Bhagat, Tamoor Ahmed (all from J&K Police), Anil Singh (Pallanwala), Amit Chander Singh (Udhampur) and Shubam Sharma (Akhnoor).
