State skating contingent leaves for Nationals

JAMMU: A strong contingent of 62 skaters in different age groups today left for participation in the 53rd National Roller Skating Championship to be held at Pune and Vishakhapatnam under the banner of Roller Skating Federation of India.
While 20 skaters of speed events have already left for the competition underway at Pune, other skaters representing the State in roller and inline hockey shall compete at Vishakhapatnam from 23rd to 28th January, a handout issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association here on Tuesday informed.
Earlier, these skaters were wished success by President of the Association, G.S Khurmi, who was accompanied by Secretary, P.P Singh. President also presented captain’s batches to the skippers of respective hockey teams.
The contingent is accompanied by Jaitender Sharma as manger of speed events while P.P Singh shall be coach. Seema Kharyal and Satish Sharma have been made Manager and Assistant Mangers of the hockey teams, the handout added.
