State council for promotion of Urdu hailed

RAJOURI: The intelligentsia from Peer Panjal Region of Jammu and Kashmir State hailed formation of State Advisory Council for Promotion of Urdu Language and termed it as fulfilling the demand of the people of the State to restore the status of Urdu as the official language of the State over a long past.
The decision to form the Advisory Council by the State Govt on the analogy of National Council For Promotion Of Urdu has been widely hailed by the students, teachers, writers, literary organisations and the civil society of the region at large.
” The creation of the Advisory Council for Promotion of Urdu language in Jammu and Kashmir is a welcome step by the Govt for which the Chief Minister, The Education Minister and Commissioner Secretary Higher Education deserve all praise for their personal involvement and interest to make it possible. This has opened new windows for the coming generations of our State to remain connected with the world of literature and practice in the State. There is need to return to correspondence in this language by the departments which have dropped it to take up the correspondence in English” expressed the intellectuals.
The decision of the Govt to include Farooq Muztar in the Advisory Council has been profoundly appreciated by all the sections of society across the region teeming his inclusion as the right person at the right place at the right time of events.
Dabistan-e-Himala, a sister organisation of Himalayan Education Mission Society headed by the veteran educationist , writer and philanthropist , Farooq Muztar has been working at a wider spectrum experimenting with new techniques and approaches in contemporary education system , had placed the idea of formation of an Advisory Council for Promotion of Urdu in the past but the process demanded a lot of time in drawing the details of its functioning and approaches to be included in its ambit which finally materialised with the issuance of the formal order as a result of keen personal interest by the Chief Minister and the Minister for Education.
The intelligentsia from Peer Panjal region expressed satisfaction over the names of all other members of the council who have been assigned the responsibility of taking Urdu to its desired heights in the State.
Shahbaz Rajourvi, A.R Fida, N.H Rahi, K.A Bismil, A.S Bahar, S. M Azam Shah, M Iqbal Shawl, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Khurshid Janam, Maharajkar Ishar, Mirza Khan Waqar, A. Rashid Qamar, Iqbal Nazish, Prof Haqeeqat Singh isher, Prof M. Iqbal Raina, Sat Pal Sharma, Kannav Badyal, Liaqat Nayyar, Pervez Malik and Sohan Lal Sharma hailed the Govt’s decision.
