JAMMU: When the BJP National President Amit Shah visited Jammu for two consecutive days, he addressed series of meetings of party workers and also met various other delegations at Convention Centre Jammu.
The senior leaders, who accompanied him, stayed at the Circuit House and Guest House.
To impress top brass of the party, the State unit of the BJP had fixed the party flags and other publicity material on the boundary walls and other vantage locations to accord them warm welcome.
Some of the party flags were also fixed atop the boundary wall of State Circuit House Complex located near the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Prof Nirmal Singh.
Now more than one month after the culmination of the visit of the BJP central leadership, no one in the State Circuit House or even the party workers had spared a thought to bring down these flags and restore sanctity of the government building.
These flags, fluttering atop the boundary wall, also reflect on the poor functioning of the State Circuit House authorities. Despite having large army of caretakers, who look after the maintenance of the Circuit House no one has been directed to take down these flags. Some of the officers in the Hospitality and Protocol Department are also guilty of sitting over the issue as flags of ruling party over the State government building paint a ‘dirty picture’ and clearly indicate how much clout is enjoyed by the ruling party as no one in the State machinery is willing to call spade a spade and counter army of sycophants who have been regularly flouting norms and breaching code of conduct.
At present Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is holding the charge of Hospitality and Protocol Department.
